Mat Borders and Backgrounds

Select the best mats or liner.
  1. Decide on mat or liner color
  2. Size the reveal for each mat layer or width of linen liner for canvas art.

Select the Frame Style

Select the moulding for the frame.
  1. View samples from over 5,000 available from over 12 vendors.
  2. View selected samples with mats and artwork together.
  3. Select the combination that's just right

Detail Designs

 Determine any special handling.
  1. Drymount or Hingemount artwork
  2.   Does canvas need to be stretched
  3.   Preservation or Conservation materials.
  4. Add any decorative details.
  5.   Add an engraved brass plates.
  6.  Add a v-groove to the mat.
  7. Decide to float artwork or mats
  8. Decide on arrangement of pictures or items in a shadowbox

Glass Choices

  1. Museum Glass - 99% UV protection with anti-reflection control
  2. Conservation Clear glass with 99% UV protection
  3. Reflection Control Glass
  4. Premium Clear - basic picture framing glass 
  5.  Acrylic - less breakable, but can be scratched
  6. No glass for canvas usually
